First raid
motorcycle raid in Morocco
The question I always get before someone's first trip is: "Is this really for me?" Most of the time, the answer is yes. If you already ride off-road, motocross or enduro, even just on weekends, you've got the foundation to come along. The rest you learn on the trail.
What really matters is the drive and a bit of off-road experience. A motivated beginner fits right in with a small guided group: we move together, at a pace that gives everyone the time to find their rhythm and build confidence. Discover my raids.
On the fitness side, you don't need to train like a pro rider. But stacking long days in the saddle is more tiring than people imagine, especially in the heat. A few weeks of cardio before you come, and you'll enjoy the later stages a whole lot more. My page on physical preparation.
For gear, you bring your own protection (helmet, goggles, back protector, elbow and knee pads, boots, gloves) and something to protect you from the sun. The motorcycle, I provide ready to ride: a KOVE 450 Rally dialed in for the terrain. KOVE Racing.
The real learning curve is reading the terrain and navigating. And that's my job: I'm here to pass on the right instincts, stage after stage. You just ride, observe, and enjoy yourself.
